Lattice Carved Window Panel h50 often with a carved frameGansu, circa 1900 This unusual wall panel is made up of eight rows of eight flowers, each indivdually carved and set within a thick outer frame. The panel is from Gansu province in western China, where it would originally have been fitted as one of several internal window panels. Today it would make a unique wall decoration, with the geometric pattern throwing unusual shadows on a wall when lit.
